Joydeep Bose is a seasoned venture capitalist, startup enthusiast and mentor , board member with 30 years of industry experience running investment programs and P&L Businesses for large multinationals.
His most recent association is with CISCO Investments and M&A leading their efforts in Asia Pacific Japan. As part of CISCO’s international leadership team Bose was responsible for driving its strategy for global investments. He ran 4 hubs for CISCO Investments in APJ including Bangalore, Singapore, Tokyo and Melbourne. During his tenure as its head, CISCO completed 26 investments and 4 acquisitions in the region capturing significant innovation from Asia for CISCO global businesses. He and his team also served at the board of around 32 portfolio companies for CISCO Investments in the region. He also represented CISCO as an LP in several venture funds including Monkshill, Avishkaar, Skylake.
Bose is a thought leader in Mobility, Cloud, IOT and their interplay through data sciences.
Before joining Cisco, Bose spent eight years at Intel Asia (Intel Capital) where he has invested in several new generation technologies and served as a broad observer for several years. With his expertise in deal creations, execution, portfolio advocacy and disposition, most of these investments have fetched significant strategic and financial upside while working with the venture community in Asia and globally. Bose also ran a New Platforms business for Intel globally and is responsible for Intel’s entry into new form factor business serving new use cases.
Some of his past and present portfolio include Tejas Networks,Deccanet, Pronto, Indtelesoft, Futuresoft, Videonetics, N3N, Nexpa, Urbanize, Netmagic, Parallels, Indiagames, Comviva among others.
Before joining Intel, Joydeep spent six years at AT&T Asia Pacific in several roles including Country Managing Director for its Managed Services & Solutions business, responsible for India and Singapore. Joydeep also spent 7 years with Singapore Government where he was the technology head for the Infrastructure Group of the National Information Infrastructure Division at National Computer Board (now IDA), There, he contributed significantly in developing new business through a technology incubation and test bed approach.
Bose started his career as an R&D engineer at the Centre for Development of Telematics in New Delhi. He holds a graduate degree in engineering from Jadavpur University Calcutta, India and has completed Corporate Management Program from AT&T Business School, New Jersey.
